Alachua County Master Gardener volunteers will teach ways utilizing rainwater on yards can be accomplished. They will discuss ideas from the simple to the complex, such as rain barrels, dry creek beds, and rain gardens.

The registration fee is $10.00. Participants must register online (those needing assistance with registering can call the Extension Office at 352-955-2402). The workshop is limited to 40 participants, and there are no refunds for the registration fees.

Composting & Seed Starting – January 21, from 6 to 7 p.m., at the Cone Park Library (2801 E. University Avenue, Gainesville). Conducted by a Master Gardener Volunteer.

Participants learn to start seeds indoors as an alternative to using transplants and composting tips. This presentation will discuss how seeds grow, the timing of planting seeds, supplies needed for starting seeds, how to make a grow light, and tips for composting.

There is no registration fee, but participants must register online (those needing assistance with registering can call the Extension Office at 352-955-2402). The workshop is limited to 40 participants.
