Three, Free, Gardening Classes

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Cooperative Extension is pleased to announce three, free, classes conducted by Wendy Wilber, Horticulture Extension Agent. 

  1. Garden Tours of Local Florida Friendly Landscapes
    Saturday October 25, 2008 from 9 a.m. to noon. Tours originate from the Alachua County Extension Office 2800 NE 39th Ave Gainesville.  Attend a class about creating a Florida Friendly Landscape and then take a tour of Gainesville home gardens that demonstrate environmentally friendly techniques. The tour guides will be Alachua County Master Gardener Volunteers. There is no cost for the tours and carpooling is encouraged. 
  2. Good Plant Choices for your Florida Friendly Landscape
    October 23, 2008 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. held at the Alachua County Extension office 2800 NE 39th Ave.  Learn which trees, shrubs, perennials and grasses will work best in your low maintenance landscape. 
  3.  Growing Fruit Trees in Your Home Landscape
     October 29th, 2008 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. held at the Alachua County Extension office 2800 NE 39th Ave.  Learn to grow citrus, peaches, persimmon and      blueberries in your own backyard.
