CAPP Funding Process Opens Today

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Alachua County is pleased to announce the opening of the 2010/11 Alachua County Community Agency Partnership Program (CAPP) funding process, Request for Application ( RFA) 11-198.  Funding is an estimated $800,000 - $1 million.  You may obtain all related documents online at http://www.alachuacounty.us/government/depts/css/capp/apply.aspx or from the County Purchasing Office (County Administration Building, 3rd floor, 12 SE 1st Street, Gainesville), or call 352-374-5202.  Applications are due by Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at 5 p.m. at the County Purchasing Office.  Applications may be turned in  before then, but not before the last addendum to be issued.  In addition to answers to questions, addenda can also contain corrections, additional instructions and changes to the process and/or application. 

There will be three poverty reduction funding categories:  Food, Health Care and Housing/Utilities.  All program applications must fit into one of the three categories.  All programs must also serve to reduce poverty among Alachua County residents.  Be sure to read the category descriptions and criteria contained in the Information & Instructions packet.  Pre-application training is mandatory, but you have the choice to meet that requirement by either attending the April 23, 2010 workshop, or viewing the online instructional video.  Either way, applicants are responsible for adhering to the information contained in the RFA documents, including  all information contained in the addenda. 

  • Workshop:  Friday, April 23, 2010 from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Alachua County Health Dept, 224 SE 24th Street, Gainesville.  If you choose to attend the workshop, you will need to bring a copy of the Application, Information & Instructions packet, and the Excel worksheets to the workshop with you.  Lunch will NOT be served.
  • Instructional Video:  The video will be posted by end of business day tomorrow:  Thursday, April 15, 2010.  Go to www.alachuacounty.us, scroll to "Items of Interest" in the middle of the page, click on the CAPP link.
