fleet managementALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Alachua County Fleet Management has been recognized as one of the best 100 fleets in the country for the sixth consecutive year. Alachua County Fleet was included in the top 100 fleets for the use of hybrid vehicles and biodiesel, fleet service cost reduction strategies, the right-sizing program, and a high customer satisfaction rating.

"Congratulations to our very own repeat Top-100 Fleet. Being recognized as one of the top Fleet Management groups in the Country is a great honor, but receiving this recognition more than once is truly special. This shows just how a small group of dedicated professionals can achieve excellence by working toward a common goal." said Public Works Director, Dave Cerlanek.

The program is sponsored by Government Fleet Magazine, Invers Mobility Solutions and Tom C. Johnson, consultant and author. 100 Best Fleets recognizes and rewards peak performing fleet operations in North America in order to identify and encourage increasing levels of performance improvement.

Applicants for the program are graded on 12 aspects of fleet management. Some of these aspects include: staff development, accountability, competitive pricing, use of technology and innovation, and quick efficient turnaround.

Fleet Manager Gerald Bailey said, “Inclusion into the 100 Best Fleets for six consecutive years shows the dedication and commitment of Fleet staff to continually strive for excellence.”
