August Animal Adoption Events

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - August is the final month of the ASPCA Rachel Ray $100K Challenge. Throughout the month, adoption fees at Alachua County Animal Services (ACAS) are waived (making every animal free to qualified applicants). In addition, through the end of August the ACAS Headquarters (3400 NE 53rd Ave, Gainesville) will be open to the public for adoptions every Sunday from noon to 4 p.m., and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the last Sunday of the month (the final day for free adoption).

ACAS is hosting and participating in several adoption events during August, 2014. The schedule of events includes:

·         August 3 - ACAS will be open (for adoptions only) from noon to 4 p.m.

·         August 8 - Earthwise Pet (4106 NW 16 Blvd, Gainesville) - Kittens will be available for adoption starting at 10 a.m.

·         August 10 - ACAS will be open (for adoptions only) from noon to 4 p.m.

·         August 10 - Summer Magic at ACAS - open from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

·         August 15 - Earthwise Pet (4106 NW 16 Blvd, Gainesville) - Kittens will be available for adoption starting at 10 a.m.

·         August 15 - Friday Nite-Date Night - Dog speed dating at ACAS from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

·         August 17 - ACAS will be open (for adoptions only) from noon to 4 p.m.

·         August 23 - Summer Lovin’ Adopt-A-Thon at ACAS from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

·         August 24 - ACAS will be open (for adoptions only) from noon to 4 p.m.

·         August 29 - Earthwise Pet (4106 NW 16 Blvd, Gainesville) - Kittens will be available for adoption starting at 10 a.m.

·         August 31 - Last Day of the Rachael Ray Competition and free adoptions from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

All cats and dogs are examined, vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered prior to leaving Animal Services. The County's goal is to save 2,500 animals in 92 days.

Regular days and hours of operation are: Tuesday through Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
