Koppers/Cabot Superfund Site Interview

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - An "Alachua County Talks" interview of Alachua County Environmental Protection Department Pollution Prevention Manager Dr.John Mousa, concerning the Koppers/Cabot Superfund Site, will premiere on Friday May 9, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. on Community 12 television.  Citizens wishing to broaden their understanding of this complicated issue are urged to tune in.

A public update on the Cabot-Koppers Superfund Site was provided on May 1, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. at a special joint meeting of the City of Gainesville and Alachua County Commissions .  An update was given by representatives of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Region 4.  The Alachua County Environmental Protection Department and Gainesville Regional Utilities also presented a brief overview of site issues of local interest.   The purpose of the UESPA presentation was update the Commissioners and the general public on the status of ongoing investigation activities and the progress and schedule for developing a remedial plan for the Cabot-Koppers Superfund Site.
