Second Annual Tour of Commercial Agriculture In and Around Alachua County

ALACHUA COUNTY —The Alachua County Rural Concerns Advisory Committee is a citizen committee established by the County Commission to provide guidance and advice regarding rural concerns and issues within the County. As part of their 2005-2006 Work Plan, they have organized a second Tour of Commercial Agriculture in and around Alachua County for the County Commission, Constitutional Officers, and County staff on Thursday, June 15, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

While last year's tour focused on the northwest area of Alachua County, this year’s tour will be in and around the southern region of the County. The tour will begin at 8 a.m. at the Florida Farm Bureau Auditorium, 5700 SW 34th Street, and will include stops at three different businesses representing this region's agricultural industries: Richardson Brothers Farm, Town & Country Farms, and Smith Brothers Farm. The tour will end back at the Farm Bureau Auditorium at 12:30 PM for an hour of discussion. Click on the links below for more information.
