April Extension Classes

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Alachua County's Cooperative Extension Office will be offering three classes open to the public in April.  All classes will be held at the UF/IFAS Alachua County Extension Office located at 2800 NE 39th Ave., Gainesville.
 
All three classes are free.  Call 352-337-6209 to register for any of the classes.
 
 
Adult Cooking School
 
This class will be held April 22, 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.
 
This class will emphasize saving time in the kitchen. The class is suggested as a review for experienced cooks and a "how-to" for novice cooks.

Toward Permanent Weight Management (TPWM)
 
This class is a 3 week series taking place April 7, 14, and 21.  There are two class times on each date: 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 - 7 p.m.
 
Topics discussed will include good carbohydrates, healthy fats, nutrition labels, and the food pyramid.
 
 
Final Class in Financial Series Health Care Initiatives & Basic Estate Planning
 
The class will be held twice on April 8:  2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
 
Topics discussed will include living wills, health care directives, powers of attorney, disability insurance, and long term care insurance.
 
This class is beneficial to people of all ages and is recommended to be shared with aging parents.
