NACo Appoints Commissioner Chestnut

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The National Association of Counties (NACo) has appointed Alachua County Commissioner Cynthia M. Chestnut to the position of Vice Chair of the Health Disparities Subcommittee Steering Committee.

"Committee leadership at the national level is a serious commitment and a big responsibility" said Don Stapley (President of NACo), "My goal is to build a committed leadership team for NACo.  We understand that a great deal of NACo's strength is in its committees, and that strength is reflected in the commitment and active participation revealed throughout our committee structure."

NACo is the only national organization that represents county governments in the United States. Founded in 1935, NACo provides essential services to the nation's 3,068 counties. NACo advances issues with a unified voice before the federal government, improves the public's understanding of county government, assists counties in finding and sharing innovative solutions through education and research, and provides value-added services to save counties and taxpayers money.
