Curb, Guardrail, and Sidewalk Work on North CR 241

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - As part of CR 241 Phase II the Alachua County Public Works Department will be performing some curb, guardrail, and sidewalk work along the southern portion of North CR 241. It will start on May 18, 2009. This work consists of adding new curb and sidewalk along the west portion of North CR 241 from SR 235 to the A.L. Mebane Middle School and new guardrail in other locations.

The cost for this construction is $333,139 and is contracted out to A & E General Contractors. It is being funded from Gas Tax Bond Revenues approved by the Board of County Commissioners in April of 2005.

Construction is expected to last 60 calendar days. Daily lane closures may be in effect during this time period. Anyone traveling through this area should expect delays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
