10-15-14 Planning Commission and 10-16-14 Development Review Committee Items

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – The Alachua County Planning Commission will meet on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at 6 p.m. The Alachua County Development Review Committee will meet on Thursday, October 16, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. Both meetings are in room 209 of the County Administration Building located at 12 SE 1st Street downtown Gainesville.

Item for the Planning Commission
CPA-07-14 (Text Amendment) A proposed amendment to the Future Land Use Element of the Alachua County Comprehensive Plan Policies 6.1.8 and 6.2. The amendment would, if approved, allow limited wood-based industrial uses in the Rural/Agricultural land use designation. An example of this type of use would be fabrication of wood floors for commercial and residential use. The text language also provides for standards for such uses to be included in the Unified Land Development Code (ULDC) as well as a process for approving such uses. The Planning Commission will act as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) for this hearing and will provide a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners.
