Station 25 Enhances Life Support

Friday, October 22, 2010 3:30 PM

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Department of Public Safety (ACDPS) Station 25 (Grove Park/Hawthorne Area) has enhanced engine 25 from a Basic Life Support (BLS) Engine to an Advance Cardiac Life Support Engine (ACLS).

Due to ACDPS's recent department wide upgrading of their cardiac technology with the Zoll Cardiac Monitors and the Cardiac Science Advance Electrical Defibrillator (AED), ACLS care is accessible to everyone, even when the ambulance is out of the area. This maintains ACLS care in the area at all times, and improves service to the community.

With these enhancements, ACDPS has reached a milestone of the Fire/EMS Services Master Plan of 2004, a vision of the Alachua County Board of County Commission.

For more information, contact ACDPS Assistant Fire Rescue Chief (Operations Branch Director) Harry A. Collins, Jr. at 352-384-3130.
