Alachua County to Participate in Springs Protection Summit

ALACHUA COUNTY - Alachua County will participate in a Springs Protection Summit for local government officials hosted by the Santa Fe Springs Working Group (SFSWG) on Sept. 20, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the cafeteria at Camp Kulaqua, 23400 NW 212 Ave., High Springs, FL.  Other participants will be Gilchrist County and the cities of High Springs, Alachua and Newberry.  Participants will have a chance to learn about state and local strategies that are being used to safeguard Florida springs.  The summit will include breakout sessions led by statewide springs experts, as well as a panel discussion on local issues with county and city managers.  Alachua County Manager Randall H. Reid will be a panelist at the summit.  The public is welcome to attend.
