County Legislation Delegation to Hold Hearing on 2006 Legislative Session

The Alachua County Legislation Delegation will hold a hearing at 2:00 p.m. on December 14, 2005 at the Kirkpatrick Criminal Justice Center, 3737 NE 39th Avenue, to consider introducing local bills in the 2006 legislative session to:

  1. Authorize the County Commission to appoint alternate members to the Alachua County Housing Authority,
  2. Authorize property owners in Alachua County to receive a conservation use classification if they have received the agricultural classification for the last five years and the property owner reduces the intensity of the agricultural use to a less intense agricultural use than that required to qualify for the agricultural use classification. The reduction in assessed value will be the same for both the agricultural classification and the conservation use classification.
