A.L. Mebane High School on Alachua County Talks

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – A new edition of "Alachua County Talks" featuring an interview with A.L. Mebane High School Alumni Association member Verdell Washington Robinson, premieres Friday February 10, 2012, on Community 12 TV at 7:30 p.m.  Mrs. Robinson is a member of the former African American high school's first graduating class in 1957.

In speaking of the program, Alachua County Talks host Mark Sexton said, "Mrs. Robinson provides a fascinating look into the history of education, race relations, and the role African American schools played during the era of segregation."

The latest editions of Alachua County Talks air at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. every night except Thursday, and at 7 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. and 12 a.m. every day.  Special or regular County Commission and Gainesville City Commission meetings may preempt any showing.
