Alachua County Health Department Has Additional Flu Vaccines

Tom Belcuore, Director of the Alachua County Health Dept. has announced that his office has received 120 doses of flu vaccine. The vaccine, Fluvirin, manufactured by Chiron is indicated for those 4 years of age and up. Belcuore also states that the health department has a limited supply of Fluzone vaccine, which is manufactured by Sanofi/Pasteur, and indicated for use in those persons age 6 months and above.

To reserve a flu vaccine, you should contact the Alachua County Health Department Immunization Office at (352) 334-7950 and ask to have your name placed on the flu vaccine list. Those with Medicare B should bring their Medicare B card and any supplemental insurance cards, in order for the health department to file for reimbursement. For all others, the cost is $15 each.
