County to Screen DVD for Public Concerning Domestic Abuse and Child Custody

ALACHUA COUNTY - Alachua County Victim Services & Rape Crisis Center and Peaceful Paths Domestic Abuse Network invite the public and professionals working in family courts, child welfare, child health care, and victim services to attend a screening of a DVD entitled, "Family Court Crisis: Abusers Getting Child Custody."  The DVD documents domestic violence offenders succeeding in controlling and hurting their victims by suing for sole or joint custody of the children they share with them.  The DVD was produced by StopFamilyViolence.org.
 
For convenience, the DVD will be screened twice at the Alachua County Health Department Auditorium, 218 SE 24th St., Gainesville, at the following times:
 
Wednesday, October 25, 2006
6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
 
Monday, October 30, 2006
10:00 a.m. - Noon
