County SHIP Local Housing Assistance Plan Available for Comment

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL- The Alachua County Department of Growth Management is seeking public comment regarding the proposed 2015-2017 State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Local Housing Assistance Plan.

This proposed plan describes the housing programs that would be implemented by Alachua County using its annual distribution of SHIP funding.  In addition, the plan contains housing incentives to encourage the development of affordable housing in unincorporated Alachua County. 

The SHIP Local Housing Assistance Plan will be discussed at the Alachua County Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC) on Thursday, February 20, 2014, at 4 p.m.  AHAC meets in the Community Treasures Room on the first floor of the County Administration Building, located at 12 SE 1st Street, Gainesville.  Copies of the proposed SHIP Local Housing Assistance Plan will be available at the meeting.

Comments regarding the plan can be made via email, at the AHAC meeting, or during the morning Regular Commission Meeting on February 25, 2014 (held in the Jack Durrance Auditorium on the second floor of the County Administration building, 12 SE 1st Street, Gainesville).
