ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Board of County Commissioners invites citizens to participate in “Community Conversations 2012.” These public events are happening throughout the County during the month of August. Community Conversation events are free, but registration is required. Light refreshments will be served.

The events feature a brief presentation of the County’s budget and issues facing the County. During each session, participants use electronic survey tools to gather opinions on a number of local issues. Participants are also given opportunities to suggest solutions to these issues. Community Conversations 2012 also features an interactive budget exercise, in which participants act as County Commissioners and collaborate with others to establish budget priorities.
