ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Tuesday March 24, 2009 is Florida Agriculture Literacy Day. Cindy Sanders, Alachua County Cooperative Extension Director will participate by reading "These Florida Farms", to the 4th grade and Pre-kindergarten classes at Micanopy Cooperative Charter School (Micanopy, FL).

"These Florida Farms" is a children's book developed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, written and illustrated by Florida Department of Agriculture's Gary Seamans and Mike Wright, respectively, in honor of this special day. Literacy Day books, lessons, bookmarks, and other items for free to volunteer readers. This project is funded from the sales of the Florida agriculture specialty license plate, also known as the "Ag Tag".
