November Agriculture & Natural Resources Programs

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - The Alachua County Cooperative Extension Office is pleased to announce the following Agriculture & Natural Resources Programs for November, 2012. These programs are offered by Barton Wilder, Agriculture & Natural Resources Agent.  The programs will be held at the Alachua County Cooperative Extension Office (2800 NE 39 Avenue, Gainesville).

Nuisance Wildlife Workshop – November 1, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Wild hogs, coyotes and other nuisance animals are an increasing problem here in Alachua County.  The workshop will cover the ecology and management of these animals.  The program is open to ranchers, agriculture producers and homeowners.

There is a $10.00 registration fee that includes a BBQ dinner.  To register, call 352-337-6209 (voicemail) by October 29.

Right of Way & Natural Areas Weed Control Workshop – November 14, from 9 a.m. to noon

Topics include: exotic weed identification, herbicides for Natural Areas & Right of Way, principles of vegetation management and herbicide calculations.  3 Natural Area & Right of Way CEUs will be available.
