Tuesday, June 21, 2016 10:00 AM

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Alachua County Animal Services is seeking foster parents. They are hosting a foster orientation on Saturday, June 25, 2016, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Animal Services Headquarters (3400 N.E. 53rd Avenue, Gainesville). The orientation is required for those wishing to participate in the animal foster program.

Foster parents temporarily care for animals that are not yet ready for adoption. This includes underage kittens, heartworm positive dogs (undergoing treatment), and under-socialized animals.

“We are currently at the height of kitten season and in desperate need of homes to care for underage kittens,” said Alachua County Shelter Supervisor Jane Grantman. “You provide the home and care, and we’ll provide the kittens and supplies. Please consider helping a kitten this season.”

For more information, contact Jane Grantman or Alachua County Animal Services Adoption Coordinator Dory Rosati at 352-264-6870, or jgrantman@alachuacounty.us, or drosati@alachuacounty.us.
