ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - Alachua County Veteran Services, in collaboration with multiple Alachua County departments, the Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center, the Alachua County Veterans Memorial Committee, and multiple veteran and non-profit organizations, is holding the Annual Veterans Day Celebration on November 11, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park (7400 S.W. 41st Place, Gainesville). This event will include the new “Walk Through Time” monument. Citizens are advised to bring chairs.
The schedule includes skydivers, military and organizational tents, patriotic music, helicopter displays, military vehicle displays, UF Drill Team demonstration, a Wreath Laying Ceremony and Taps. Following the formal ceremony, there will be a live band and a community barbecue.
