An audit report shared on Monday with the city of Archer and new Mayor Fletcher Hope shows the city is facing more financial troubles on top of its debt to the IRS and the misuse of its share of the county's Wild Spaces and infrastructure sales surtax.

The city of Archer misspent more than $300,000 in surtax dollars since 2017, and in an update to the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), the city said it is still waiting to hear from the state to come up with a repayment plan.
