Alachua County is thrilled to host the "Discover 200 – A Bicentennial Celebration" on Jan. 11, 2025, at Depot Park and Heartwood Soundstage in Gainesville. This free, family-friendly event starts at 1 p.m. and goes into the evening, promising a full day of live music, food, entertainment and activities for all ages.
The event features an exciting lineup of musical performances, including:
- Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, Grammy Award-winning blues sensation
- Chuck Ragan & The Camaraderie, Gainesville's own Key to the City honoree
- Little Jake & The Soul Searchers, legendary soul icons
- Cliff Dorsey, a rising country music star and local favorite
Also performing are a diverse range of local and regional artists, including Nancy Luca, Dikembe, The Savants, Kristen Warren, Lowly Worm & The Fantastic Beverages, Noah Moses & The Flood and Purple Kloud.
Fun for All Ages
In addition to the incredible music, attendees can enjoy:
- Giveaways: The first 800 attendees who visit the Discover 200 event table will receive a free event T-shirt. There are many other giveaways also.
- Delicious Food & Unique Vendors: Savor tasty treats from food trucks and explore a variety of vendors and exhibits.
- Learn & Discover: Visit educational tables at Depot Park to learn about local county services and discover job opportunities at the human resources booth.
- Kid-Friendly Activities: Keep the little ones entertained with free balloon animals, magic shows, and face painting at Depot Park.
- Evening Magic: As the sun sets, watch Depot Park come alive with enchanting “light being” creatures.
Parking/Street Closures: A portion of Depot Avenue will be closed from the roundabout on Main Street to Second Street.
