ALACHUA COUNTY, FL – The Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization (MTPO) for the Gainesville Urbanized Area will conduct its Regular Business Meeting on Monday, October 30, 2017. The meeting begins at 5 p.m. in the Jack Durrance Auditorium (Room 209) on the second floor of the Alachua County Administration Building (12 S.E. 1st Street, Gainesville).
Items of interest at this meeting include:
1. Year 2040 Long-Range Transportation Plan administrative modification for the S.W. 62nd Boulevard Connector preliminary engineering (Fiscal Year 2017-18) and right-of-way acquisition (Fiscal Years 2017-18 and 2018-19);Transportation Improvement Program for Fiscal Years 2017-18 to 2021-22
2. Transportation Improvement Program amendment for the S.W. 62nd Boulevard Connector preliminary engineering (Fiscal Year 2017-18) and right-of-way acquisition (Fiscal Years 2017-18 and 2018-19)
3. Transportation Improvement Program amendments for Fiscal Year 2017-18 for roll forward projects, N.W. 39th Avenue Railroad Crossing Replacement, Low or No-Emission Transit Vehicle Purchase Grant and Autonomous Vehicle Transit Service Development Grant
4. Florida Department of Transportation Five-Year Tentative Work Program
5. Performance Measures
The MTPO is responsible for the continuing, comprehensive and cooperative urban transportation planning program for the Gainesville Metropolitan Area. This planning program is required in order to receive federal and state funds for transportation projects.
The voting members of the MTPO are the five Alachua County Commissioners and the Mayor and the six City of Gainesville Commissioners. Non-voting members are The University of Florida President’s designee, a Rural Advisor designated by the Alachua County League of Cities and the Florida Department of Transportation District 2 Secretary’s designee. Staff services to the MTPO are provided by the North Central Florida Regional Planning Council.

In addition, there is an opportunity for citizens to speak to items not on the agenda during Citizens Comments at the end of the meeting.
