2-16-22 Planning Commission Meeting

The Alachua County Planning Commission will meet on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at the Alachua County Administration Building (12 S.E. 1st Street, Gainesville). This meeting begins at 6 p.m. The public may offer comments virtually and in person. Masks are required regardless of vaccination status.

The public may view the meeting on the County's Video on Demand website. 

For the public who attend virtually, once the public comment is opened for an item under discussion, please call 929-505-6099 (enter meeting code 478 494 9835). Callers will be put in a queue, and prompted when it is their turn to speak. TO AVOID FEEDBACK, SPEAKERS MUST TURN DOWN THE VOLUME ON THEIR DEVICE WHEN ADDRESSING THE DEVELOPMENT REVIEW COMMITTEE. Callers should state their names and limit comments to two minutes. When prompted for in-person comments, in-person participants should follow the direction of the Chair to participate.

ZOM-01-22 (Rezoning from R-1a District to Agriculture District) – This is a request by Leon Freeman, owner and agent, to rezone from ‘R-1a’ (Single Family Residential) district to ‘R-1c’ (Agriculture) district with a Lochloosa Rural Cluster land use. The parcel is approximately 0.24 acres on parcel number 20077-004-000 located at 15322 S.E. US Highway 301. The rezoning, if approved, would permit a mobile home to be placed on the parcel. ZOX-01-22 (Parsons Private Motorized Vehicle Practice Facility special exception) – This is a request by Bobi J. Frank and Leonard E. Ireland, Jr., agents, for Gregory W. Parsons, owner, for a special exception to allow a private motorized vehicle practice facility. If approved, the special exception will allow for the parcel to be used by motorized two and four wheel vehicles as a racing practice facility. The site is approximately 20.55 acres and has Agriculture (A) zoning and a future land use designation of Rural/Agriculture (1 dwelling unit per 5 acres), located on tax parcel number 04094-002-000 at 17768 N.W. 62nd Ave. For more information, contact Principal Planner Jeff Hays at 352-374-5249 or jhays@alachuacounty.us.
