3-10-20 Commission Regular Meeting

​The Alachua County Commission will conduct their Regular Meeting on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, in the Jack Durrance Auditorium (Room 209) on the second floor of the Alachua County Administration Building (12 S.E. 1st Street, downtown Gainesville). The Regular Meeting begins at 11:30 a.m. and will recess after the morning agenda items are completed. The meeting will reconvene at 5:01 p.m. for the evening agenda.

Daytime items of interest include:

  •  Approval of a Proclamation Declaring April 1st, 2020 as "Census Day" in Alachua County, FL
  •  Approval of a Proclamation Declaring March 16th through 20th, 2020 as Government Finance Professionals Week
  • Brief History Reading by the Alachua County Historical Commission on the Second Seminole War in Alachua County
  • Eco-Industrial Park Strategic Marketing Plan, Branding and Naming
  • Request Approval of Alachua County Agriculture & Equestrian Center Rules; Accept the list of Agriculture and Equestrian Events Defined; and Approve the proposed Fee Schedule and Reservation Procedures (Checklist)
  • NW 63rd Street Connection and NW 39th Ave Safety Study
  • Consolidation of Deferred Compensation Record-keepers
  • Whistle-blower Ordinance-Public Hearing
  • Request to Advertise: A County-Initiated Large Scale land use amendment from Preservation to Rural Agriculture
  • Deferred Compensation Ordinance Amendment-Public Hearing
  • Trespassing Ordinance-Public Hearing

Evening items of interest include:

  • Amendments to Unified Land Development Code related to Open Space and Development Application Review Requirements

There are four public comment opportunities during the Regular Meeting which enable citizens to speak to items not on the agenda. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting. It will be available to view live on Cox Channel 12, Facebook, and on the County’s Video on Demand website.
