The Alachua County Planning Commission will meet on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Jack Durrance Auditorium (room 209) on the second floor of the County Administration Building (12 S.E. 1st Street, downtown Gainesville).

CPA-03-18 (Large-Scale Comprehensive Plan Amendment for Fuel Station Design in TND/TOD and Access Management in the Springhills Activity Center) – This is a request by eda, inc., for a text amendment to Alachua County Comprehensive Plan 2011-2030 Future Land Use Element Policy 1.6.5.14 related to design criteria for non-residential uses for fueling, quick service or cleaning of motor vehicles within Traditional Neighborhood or Transit Oriented Developments and a text amendment to Alachua County Comprehensive Plan 2011-2030 Future Land Use Element Policy 2.2.1 (b)(2) related to access management criteria for 39th Avenue, 98th Street and 91st Street within the Springhills Activity Center. These revisions to the Comprehensive Plan would provide additional flexibility in the design of retail stores with gas pumps and cleaning station within traditional neighborhood developments. In addition, language in the plan relating to vehicular access within the Springhillls Activity Center would be clarified. ZOM-03-18 (Jonesville Mixed-Use Planned Development Rezoning) – This is a request by Craig Brashier of CHW, Inc., agent, for David W. Smith and B.T.M. Smith Jr., owners, to rezone from ‘BR’ (Business Retail Sales/Service) zoning district and ‘R-1A’ (Single Family Residential) zoning district to ‘PD’ (Jonesville Mixed Use PD) zoning district on approximately 3 acres located at 13327 W. Newberry Road on Tax Parcel Number 04333-002-000. The Future Land use designation on this property is Commercial and Low Density Residential (1 to 4 dwelling units/acre). This project, if approved, would permit retail and residential mixed use development on the parcel, which is located on the south side of Newberry Road east of the Jonesville Activity Center.
