The Alachua County Planning Commission will meet on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the Alachua County Administration Building (12 S.E. 1st Street, Gainesville). This meeting begins at 6 p.m.

Z24-000004 – This is a county-initiated text amendment to the Alachua County Comprehensive Plan, Potable Water & Sanitary Sewer Element and Capital Improvements Element, to add policies necessary to implement new requirements in Section 163.3177, Florida Statutes enacted through House Bill 1379 (2023) which call for local governments to consider the feasibility of providing sanitary sewer services to certain developments of more than 50 lots on septic systems, and to include capital improvement projects necessary to achieve pollutant load reductions established in Basin Management Action Plans as part of the Five Year Schedule of Capital Improvements. Z24-000005 – This is a county-initiated text amendment to the Alachua County Comprehensive Plan Capital Improvements Element to revise Policy 1.2.5(a) by clarifying that existing Level of Service guidelines for fire service response are based on travel time in accordance with National Fire Protection Association standards.
