Alachua County Announces AlertAlachua Emergency Notification System

Alachua County Emergency Management is now using a new emergency notification system for residents and businesses called “AlertAlachua.” This new mass notification system is replacing the current CodeRED system, which shuts down on June 30, 2017.

AlertAlachua sends emergency notifications to those who register (registration is free) at AlertAlachua. Users can enter multiple contact numbers and email addresses, and alert preferences can be customized. Emergency notification options include weather alerts, missing persons alerts, and boil water notices. Personal information used in the system will never be shared or distributed unless required to do so by law. Additionally, Alachua County will never use information for any purpose other than to send emergency notifications or information about Alachua County.

Those who have registered for CodeRED will need to re-register for the AlertAlachua system. Those who do not register for AlertAlachua will no longer receive emergency alerts from Alachua County Emergency Management after this date.

For more information on AlertAlachua, contact Alachua County Emergency Management Director John Shaw at 352-264-6500.
