Animal Resources Closed to the Public Oct. 29

Alachua County Animal Resources will be closed to the public on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, to allow staff to participate in a full-day professional training session led by the Jacksonville Humane Society.

The training will cover a range of animal welfare topics to improve shelter operations, animal care, and community engagement. This partnership opportunity provides valuable continuing education for Animal Resources staff and supports the county’s commitment to excellence in animal welfare.

While the shelter will be closed to the public during the training, an Animal Resources officer will continue to respond to animal-related enforcement calls throughout the day. Residents are encouraged to call 911 for emergencies.

Regular hours of operation will resume on Thursday, Oct.30, 2025.
