The Alachua County Community Agency Partnership Program (CAPP) is now accepting applications for vacancies on its Grant Review Committee. The CAPP Grant Review Committee consists of five members nominated by the County Manager and confirmed by the Board of County Commissioners.
CAPP Grant Review Committee members review and evaluate applications for funding submitted by community non-profit organizations to help reduce poverty in Alachua County and make funding recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners. The Commission’s priorities for these CAPP grant funds are:
- Children’s education (ages 6-18)
- Child safety (ages 6-18)
- Disabilities / Health maintenance
- Homeless / Housing
- Hunger relief
- Seniors
Individuals interested in serving as a Grant Review Committee member should fill out the online application. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, March 20, 2018.
Grant Review Committee members participate for a limited, designated time period during the grant application funding cycle. Following an orientation and training session for reviewers, online agency grant submissions will be reviewed independently in the convenience of the Committee member’s home. A team meeting to participate in scoring tasks and to formulate funding recommendations will follow shortly thereafter.
The training and orientation session (approximately one-half day) is tentatively scheduled for late-April, with independent reviewing of applications in May. A one-day session arranged for team scoring and funding recommendations is tentatively set to take place on or about May 31st.
Serving on the CAPP Grant Review Committee requires the applicant to have computer skills and access to a home computer. Those without a computer should contact CAPP for assistance.
