February Agriculture and Natural Resources Program

The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Agriculture & Natural Resources Program for February 2018. This program is being offered by Dr. Kevin Korus, Agriculture & Natural Resources Agent at the UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office (2800 N.E. 39th Avenue, Gainesville).

Core & Right of Way Pesticide Exam Preparation Course – February 23, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Some of the topics in this class will include discussion of herbicide modes of action, herbicide additives, herbicide chemistries and weed biology, application types (broadcast, banded, etc.), spray equipment (nozzle types), pesticide movement through drift, leaching, runoff, worker safety, review of area calculations and weight/volume conversions, and how to read an herbicide label.

The following CEU’s will be available: 2 Core and 2 Right of Way.

Participants must register online. The registration fee is $40.00 (includes study guide/materials & lunch). Participants must register by February 21st. There are no refunds for this program.
