The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Family and Consumer Sciences programs for February 2018. These programs are being offered by Martha B. Maddox, County Extension Agent IV, at the UF/IFAS Extension Office (2800 N.E. 39th Avenue, Gainesville).
Alachua County Master Food and Nutrition Volunteer Program Interviews – February 22 and February 23
Volunteers are needed to assist the Family and Consumer Sciences Agent with food demonstrations, farmers market displays and demonstrations, health fairs, grocery store displays and demonstrations, and cooking classes. Training dates are scheduled in March and will be announced after the interviews.
The training costs $175.00 for those who are accepted.

Spice It Up The Healthy Way With Herbs Workshop – February 28, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Workshop topics include tips and suggestions for using herbs to reduce sodium in the diet. Individuals will take home some herb blends and booklet with herb information.
Participants must register online. The registration fee is $15.00, and participants must register by February 23rd. The workshop is subject to cancellation if less than ten people are registered. If the workshop is cancelled registration fee will be reimbursed.
