The Alachua County Crisis Center is offering a free workshop for parents and guardians on how to talk to youth about suicide. The workshop is on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Thomas Coward Auditorium at the Alachua County Health Department (224 S.E. 24th Street, Gainesville).
Alachua County Crisis Center Director Ali Martinez said, “We will provide clear and compassionate ways to address the topic of suicide, an overview of the risk and protective factors and steps to take if you suspect your child may be suicidal, and explore ways to best support youth if they face the loss of a loved one to suicide.”
