Hurricane Elsa Update #1

Tropical Storm Elsa strengthened overnight and is now a hurricane. Elsa is expected to eventually be downgraded again to a Tropical Storm. With that being said, there is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding Elsa’s forecasted track (as evidenced by the large 5-day cone).

What is known right now is that this weekend and into early next week is going to bring more rain to our already saturated area. Alachua County is currently in the 5-day cone, which means residents have some time this weekend to buy those missing items from their disaster supply kit in case the County does experience local impacts.
