The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Commercial Horticulture program for January 2024. This program is being offered by Commercial Horticulture Agent Dr. Tatiana Sanchez-Jones.
Integrated Organic Vegetable Production Systems Field Day – Jan. 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the UF/IFAS Plant Research & Education Unit (2556 W. HWY 318, Citra) with Dr. Xin Xhao of the Horticultural Sciences Department at UF/IFAS.
The field day provides information on the production of organic vegetables in North Central Florida with updates on nutrient management, soil disinfestation, grafting, and more. Crops addressed include leafy greens, celery and strawberry in open-field and protected agriculture. There will be presentations, discussions and a tour of research plots. Participants should bring a water bottle, hat and jacket.
The registration fee is $5.00 (plus $2.18 Eventbrite fee) and includes lunch. Participants must
register online by Jan. 19. This event is limited to 50 participants. There are no refunds for the registration fee.
