The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Family and Consumer Sciences program for February 2022. This program is being offered by Martha B. Maddox, Family & Consumer Sciences Agent, at the Alachua County Ag Auditorium (22716 W. Newberry Road, Newberry).
Water Bath Canning of Jams & Jellies – March 29, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
In this class, participants learn water bath canning techniques and how to preserve jelly safely. This program includes hands-on demonstrations with a lecture on making jams and jellies, how to make freezer jam, equipment needed, food safety guidelines, water bath guidelines, and methods.
The registration fee is $25.00. Participants must
register online by March 18, 2022. This class is limited to ten participants, and there are no refunds for registration fees. This class is subject to cancellation if less than five people are registered. If the workshop is canceled, the registration fee can be used for a future program.
COVID-19 Precautions: Masks are highly recommended.
