The UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office is pleased to announce the following Agriculture and Natural Resources programs for October 2019. These programs are being offered by Dr. Kevin Korus, Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent, at the UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County Office (2800 N.E. 39th Avenue, Gainesville) unless otherwise indicated.
UF/IFAS Hemp Project Update – October 7, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Some of the topics for this class include what is industrial hemp, state authorization, research plan, production trials, environmental impacts, variety trail, hemp management, invasion risk, and more.
The registration fee is $5.00. Participants must register online (those needing assistance with registering can call the Extension Office at 352-955-2402). There are no refunds for the registration fees.
2019 Fall Pond Workshop – October 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the UF Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (7922 N.W. 71st Street, Gainesville)
Topics for this workshop include fish pond management, fish health, water quality testing, aquatic weed management, and selecting desirable pond plants. CEUs will be available: 4- Aquatic Pest Control and 4- Private Applicator.
The registration fee is $30.00 and includes lunch and course material. Participants must register online (those needing assistance with registering can call the Extension Office at 352-955-2402). Late registration is $60.00. There are no refunds for the registration fees.
