Alachua County Community Support Services’ Office of Community Stabilization, the Children’s Services Advisory Board (CSAB), and the City of Gainesville’s Depot Park are hosting the third annual Family Information/Children “Happyween” Fun Day. The event is on Saturday, October 27, 2018, from noon to 3pm., at Depot Park (200 S.E. Depot Ave, Gainesville).
The event is on the Saturday before Halloween. There will be special activities planned for children including infant car seat and bicycle safety demonstrations, face painting, entertainment and more. Happyween is a safe place for children to trick-or-treat (with parents close by).
The purpose of this event is to connect families with local agencies, organizations, law enforcement, emergency management services, County and City fire rescue services, health services, waste management, housing assistance, and employment services. Agencies will be able to assist citizens with questions and give referrals.
Alachua County Community Support Services Community Stabilization Program Manager Marie Small said, “There are numerous services in our community that citizens are not aware of, and since there is no one-stop location for information, it is very important that we take services and information to our communities.”
