Visitors Now Required to Wear a Mask and Book an Appointment

This press release published at the request of the Alachua County Property Appraiser.

Effective immediately, the Alachua County Property Appraiser’s Office will re-implement the indoor mask mandate for all visitors.

This change has been implemented following the short-term emergency order (Short-Term Emergency Order 2021-25) unanimously approved by the Alachua County Commission on August 19, 2021, at 5 p.m.

The Alachua County Property Appraiser’s offices in Gainesville and Alachua are open by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, please visit the Alachua County Property Appraiser’s Office website. Customers can reach the Main (Gainesville) office number at 352-374-5230 or the Alachua office number 386-418-6157.

Those visiting the Gainesville office on the second floor of the Josiah T. Walls building are asked to remain in the seated area between the elevators and the office. The main door to the office will remain locked, so staff will call each visitor in at their designated appointment time.

Those visiting the Alachua office located inside the Swick House are asked to wait outside until a staff member lets them in at their designated appointment time.

The Alachua County Property Appraiser’s Office strives to ensure the health of our staff and visitors. They will continue to take the necessary precautions to help limit the spread of COVID-19 in the Alachua County community. All staff are required to wear masks. They have taken several precautions to limit the spread of COVID-19 by using partitions/barriers, limiting the number of visitors, and observing social distancing measures.
