8-27-19 Commission Regular Meeting

​The Alachua County Commission will conduct their Regular Meeting on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, in the Jack Durrance Auditorium (Room 209) on the second floor of the Alachua County Administration Building (12 S.E. 1st Street, downtown Gainesville). The Regular Meeting begins at 11:30 a.m. Regular meetings typically recess and resume at 5:30 p.m., but this meeting does not include an evening section.

The Camp McConnell Agenda Item scheduled for the August 27 Regular Meeting is moved to the September 10, 2019 Regular County Commission Meeting.

Items of interest include:

  • Approval of a Proclamation declaring September 8 to 14, 2019 as “Suicide Prevention Week” in Alachua County, FL
  • Veteran Services Advisory Board appointments
  • Alachua County Housing Authority Board appointment
  • Four Creeks Preserve trail system development
  • CHOICES Grant Review Committee funding recommendations for FY20-22
  • Request to Advertise: Amendments to the Preservation Buffer Overlay District (Section 405.33) of the Unified Land Development Code (ULDC)
  • Approval of Administrative Order to re-organize departments and offices
  • Annual Report for Meridian Behavioral Healthcare, Inc.
  • Unified Land Development Code (ULDC) Text Amendment: Thresholds for Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) review of Preliminary Development Plans (PDP)
  • Officers’ Quarterly Reports of budget to actual expenditures for FY209 Quarter 3
  • Fourth Amendment to the Florida Council Against Sexual Violence 16-TFGR-17 Grant Contract

There are two public comment opportunities during the Regular Meeting, which enable citizens to speak to items not on the agenda. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting. It will be available to view live on Cox Channel 12, Facebook, and on the County’s Video on Demand website.
