9-10-25 Planning Commission Meeting

The Alachua County Planning Commission will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, at the Alachua County Administration Building (12 SE 1st St., Gainesville). This meeting begins at 6 p.m.

The committee will take public comments in person only. The meeting can be viewed on Cox Channel 12, the AC TV app (Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Roku), or the county’s video-on-demand website.

The applicant for the Gainesville Preserve rezoning request (Z25-000017) has requested a deferral of the public hearing before the Alachua County Planning Commission scheduled for Sept. 10, 2025. A new hearing date of Wednesday, Oct.15, 2025, has been tentatively scheduled. Interested citizens are encouraged to check the county website for the status of the meeting in the first week of October. Citizens can also contact either Gerald Brewington (Senior Planner) or Chris Dawson (Principal Planner) at the Alachua County Growth Management Department at 352-374-5249 for project updates.

Z25-000014 Clay Electric Special Exception for a Major Utility – This is a request by Tara Howell of JBPro (agent) for Clay Electric Cooperative Inc. (owner) for a special exception for a major utility (service vehicle staging area) on approximately 7.98 acres located just north of 11530 NW 39th Avenue (Clay Electric Cooperative Branch Office) on tax parcel number 04193-004-007. The site has a future land use designation of Low-Density Residential (1 to 4 dwelling units/acre) and is in the RE-1 zoning district.
