Public Invited to Celebrate Alachua County Fire Rescue 50th Anniversary with Gala Event

Alachua County Fire Rescue (ACFR) is commemorating its 50th anniversary with a formal gala event on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at the Alachua County Sports and Event Center at Celebration Pointe. The celebration will begin with a social hour at 5 p.m., followed by dinnerr and special presentations at 6 p.m.

The gala will honor the men and women who have served with ACFR over the past five decades and recognize the longstanding community partners who have supported the department’s mission. ACFR, which provides 24/7 emergency and non-emergency services, is proud to have reached this milestone in its commitment to protecting the residents and visitors of Alachua County.

“We are incredibly proud to celebrate this milestone,” said ACFR Fire Chief Harold Theus. “This event is not only an opportunity to reflect on our history and achievements but also to look ahead at the future of our department as we continue to serve and protect our community.”

The evening will feature special presentations, including guest speakers and video tributes. All proceeds from ticket sales and donations will support public outreach programs and firefighter training initiatives. The event is being organized in partnership with the GRIT Foundation, ACFR’s official nonprofit fundraising organization.

Tickets for the gala are available now, with individual tickets priced at $50. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for businesses and individuals interested in making a greater impact. To purchase tickets or to learn more about the event, visit https://tinyurl.com/ACFR50.
