County Seeks Volunteers for Equity Advisory Board

​Alachua County is actively seeking dedicated individuals to apply for vacancies on the Equity Advisory Board. If you are committed to advancing racial and gender equity, passionate about social and environmental justice, and eager to contribute to diversity and inclusion, the county invites you to apply for either a full or alternate member position.

The Equity Advisory Board plays a crucial role in advising and guiding policies that promote fairness and inclusivity within our community. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact by working collaboratively with others who share a commitment to these core values.

Alachua County encourages applications from individuals who:

  • Commit to Racial and Gender Equity: Have a deep understanding of and dedication to addressing disparities in these areas.
  • Focus on Social and Environmental Justice: Are concerned with equitable access to resources and protection of our environment.
  • Foster Diversity and Inclusion: Can work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Connect with Marginalized Communities: Can engage with and understand the needs of historically marginalized groups.
  • Possess Relevant Experience: Bring experience in fields such as education, employment, housing, health and human services, criminal justice or business.


Meeting Details

The Equity Advisory Board meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Alachua County Administration Building (12 SE 1st St., Gainesville) in the Grace Knight Conference Room. Meetings typically last one hour, though they may vary depending on the agenda.
