Registration is open for summer camp at Cuscowilla Nature and Retreat Center, and families are encouraged to sign up online today, as spaces are filling quickly and typically reach capacity in advance.
Those interested in the camp can also attend an open house on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon. Families can drop in to try camp activities, meet summer staff and tour the facility (210 SE 134th Ave., Micanopy).
Camp will be offered for seven weeks, from June 8 to July 24, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Children ages 7 to 11 may register for individual weeks or the full session. Each week includes archery, swimming lessons and recreational swimming, outdoor skills, arts and crafts, kayaking and more.
Campers also will participate in weekly field trips to locations throughout Alachua County, including the Discovery Center, the Alachua County Sports Complex, Poe Springs and the Cade Museum.
Students in grades 6 through 8 can enroll in specialty camps, including Fish Camp and Adventure Camp. Fish Camp, offered for two weeks, teaches ethical angling at George’s Pond using a curriculum developed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in coordination with the Florida Youth Conservation Network. Adventure Camp, offered for four weeks, expands on traditional day camp with additional field trips, kayaking on the Silver River, climbing at the Knot and high-ropes activities.
“This is a great opportunity for prospective families, new campers who have already signed up and those who simply miss camp,” said Camp Manager Jamie Bass. “Staff will be stationed at key areas, including the archery range, climbing wall and game room.”
The weekly rate is $175 for Day Camp and $225 for specialty camps. An initial deposit of $25 can secure your child’s place before full payment is made.
Breakfast, lunch and a snack are included. Daily bus transportation is available. Campers may also be dropped off and picked up at the camp.
Eligible campers may receive a two-week scholarship through Friends of Cuscowilla. Applications and supporting documents must be submitted by April 15.
