The Alachua County Arts Council is pleased to announce the first annual Artists Conference for County artists has been rescheduled to Friday, May 6, 2022. The conference was previously postponed due to the highly contagious Omicron variant. Attendees can join either virtually or in person. This year’s conference is free to all attendees. Those interested in arts funding from the County should participate in this conference.
Those attending the conference will learn how to apply for Alachua County’s Mini-Grant and Destination Enhancement Grants Programs. Participants also learn about the Call to Artists process, social media promotion, and will have networking opportunities.
Planned sessions include:
• Poetry reading by Alachua County Poet Laureate, E. Stanley Richardson
• State legislative update
• Demystifying the Destination Enhancement Grants process
• Grant writing tips and tricks for the Alachua County’s Mini-Grant Program
• Understanding the County’s Call to Artists process
• How social media can work for you!
• More sessions will be added
The Alachua County Arts Council’s mission is to “improve the quality of life of Alachua county residents by increasing exposure to the arts, expanding opportunities for creative expression by local artists, and increasing community resources for the arts.”
Arts Council Chair David Ruiz stated, “The Arts Council is the local resource for Alachua County artists, and the sessions planned will provide critical support to help our artists community succeed.”
