The alliance is a partnership among Alachua County, the City of Gainesville, the Children’s Trust of Alachua County and Santa Fe College.
“Preventing gun violence requires every part of our community working together,” said Carl Smart, Alachua County’s executive liaison for public safety and community relations. “When local governments, schools, families and organizations unite around a shared plan, we strengthen our ability to protect our neighborhoods and support our young people. This collaboration is essential to creating a safer future for everyone in Alachua County.”
