In honor of suicide prevention month, the Alachua County Crisis Center invites residents to a virtual symposium, “In Transition: Mental Wellness in an Ever Changing World,” from September 20 through September 23, 2021, with session in the evening. This free Zoom symposium is for people to learn about mental health and wellness. The registration deadline is September 17.
Before the start of the symposium, participants will be contacted via email with presentation information accompanied by their Zoom links. Participants are welcome to attend any or all presentations. Presentations will cover a variety of topics. There will be hourly sessions at 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m.

This symposium is an annual event. Often, people outside of the mental health field encounter misinformation or advice regarding mental health. Please note that the content of the symposium is educational and discussion-oriented. Although the Crisis Center hopes the sessions are beneficial, they are not intended as counseling or therapy.
The Crisis Center was established in Gainesville in 1969 and serves the community through outreach, counseling services, mobile response teams/care teams, survivor of suicide groups, operating a local crisis line, and the national suicide hotline.
